UKPHR is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We will make use of personal data provided to support our work as the regulatory body for public health professionals in the UK, primarily to maintain and publish a register of competent public health professionals. We will process your personal data for purposes including updating the register, administering, and maintaining registration, processing complaints, monitoring fitness to practise and compiling statistics.
Applicants should be aware that in order for assessment and regulatory procedures to be completed, UKPHR will process your data and may from time to time circulate data amongst assessors, UKPHR staff and occasionally advisors, including Moderators, and will store information provided by them. This is solely to aid in processing your application.
UKPHR will not share your personal data on a commercial basis with any third party. We may, however, share your data with third parties to meet out statutory aims, objectives, powers, and responsibilities. We may pass information to organisations with a legitimate interest including other health and social care regulatory bodies to assist in the effectiveness of the regulatory system more widely.
Your name, address, telephone number, email address, employment details and registration with other bodies are used for registration and regulatory activities. These details are held securely in digital form, and we will generally retain your personal data for regulatory, legal and accounting purposes for six years following its receipt by UKPHR, after which it will be securely destroyed. Ongoing registration details, including personal data relevant to revalidation and fitness to practise, will be retained for a longer period for our regulatory purposes.
Employment data can also be used to develop regulatory activities and services in relation to the workforce. This information, as a statistic, may be made publicly available; no personal data will be shared for this purpose.
Your personal details are used by UKPHR staff and the Registrar for communication activities relating to your registration. Declarations of health or character will be processed by UKPHR staff and the Registrar. This information may also be processed in conjunction with Fitness to Practice investigations and can, where appropriate, be shared with relevant governing bodies.
Your financial data is processed by UKPHR staff. Your payments are processed by GoCardless online and PayPal.
You are entitled to see the information we hold about you, ask us not to use any of the information we collect or ask us to delete the information on you that we hold. To do this, please contact us at register@ukphr.org. If you request a copy of the information we hold on you, we will provide this to you within one month.
